Organizations partner to spread continence care awareness

The National Association For Continence (NAFC) (Charleston, SC) has partnered with Humana (Louisville, KY) to educate Medicare beneficiaries about continence care. By utilizing NAFC’s experience, knowledge, and resources, Humana will work to improve the health of its Medicare Advantage members who have incidences of bladder control loss.

For the majority of people, incontinence is treatable and help is available. This partnership will educate consumers about different interventions and treatment options. Some options are behavioral modifications, like dietary changes such as avoiding caffeine and alcohol or losing excess weight. Other treatment options are pharmacological therapy and surgical treatment. There is an increasing number of management options being developed to help urinary incontinence, including urinary urgency and frequency.
