A new study has found that diabetic patients walk without wearing specialized footwear that is used to prevent foot sores too often.
According to research published in Diabetes Care, a new study of 107 diabetic patients found that 29 percent of steps taken by patients during a two-week period were done so without the use of their custom-made shoes. Researchers also found that patients wore their preventative shoes less often at home than when they are outside of their house (39 percent compared to 87 percent, respectively).
