This first entry is to give you an overview of what I/we do. I own and operate two independent out-patient wound care clinics. One clinic is in Savannah, GA and the other is about 15 miles northwest of Savannah in Pooler, GA. We opened our doors first in Savannah in April 2005 and then due to growth we opened the Pooler office in July 2007. I do not have a medical background but found myself wanting to start a small business after having just spent 25 years at FedEx … most of those years in operations management. I looked at doing many things post FedEx. I was drawn to this opportunity after having spent a week in a similar clinic in west Tennessee and seeing how positive an impact it was making in their patients lives. We offer standard treatment for wound care along with electrical stimulation and ultrasound and Celleration Mist as additional therapies to enhance wound closure. Our corporate name is Wound Care Clinic - ESU, Inc. The ESU in our name reflects Electrical Stimulation and Ultrasound and designates us as different from the hospital based wound care centers. There are two such wound care centers in Savannah and both offer standard wound care but not E-Stim and Ultrasound or Celleration Mist. The Clinical Director of our company is Melanie Finocchiaro, FNP, BC. Melanie was the first person I offered a job to. It has proven to be no less than a miracle as Melanie is a compassionate caring and extremely professional provider. We have been successful because Melanie and I work very well together. We heal all types of wounds and we continue to grow. In the next post I will be writing about how the marketing plan created solid growth! I am very excited to be part of this group … and I am excited about what I can learn by participating. Thanks for reading!
