NPUAP Elects 2008 Officers and Board Members

The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP), the organization that serves as the authoritative voice for improved patient outcomes in pressure ulcer prevention and treatment through public policy, education and research, recently elected its officers for 2008.

Newly elected officers include: President — Dr. Diane Langemo, University of North Dakota, and President, Langemo & Associates, Grand Forks, ND; Vice-President — Dr. Laura Edsberg, Daemen College, Amherst, NY; Secretary — Dr. Teresa Connor-Kerr, Winston-Salem State University, Winston-Salem, ND; and Treasurer — Dr. Barbara Pieper, Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich.

Board members elected to 3-year terms (2008–2010) are Harold Brem, MD, FACS, and Gregory Schultz, PhD. Dr. Brem is Associate Professor of Surgery, Department of Surgery, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Director of the Wound Healing Program at Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY. Dr. Schultz is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and affiliated with the Institute for Wound Research at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla.

Three board members were re-elected to a second term: Janet Cuddigan, PhD, RN, CWCN, CCCN, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Neb; Laura Edsberg, PhD, Daemen College, Amherst, NY; and Steven Reger, PhD, CP, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.
